LES Fingerprint Scanner Technology: Superior Security
Integrated Biometrics’ fingerprint scanners featuring the patented Light Emitting Sensor (LES) offers the performance to fulfill the long-awaited promise of biometrics. This live finger sensing, high-resolution image generation technology surpasses both the security and usability of silicon and optical scanners in real-world performance. The low maintenance and durability of LES also add significant value from reduced operational costs and extended hardware life.
LES is the only fingerprint technology to achieve The National Biometric Security Project's Qualified Products List (NBSP QPL) certification. For demanding, unattended applications where secure, efficient identification is required, organization worldwide employ our LES-based solutions.
High Security
The Light Emitting Sensor is live finger sensing, only registering an image when moving electrons in a live finger are detected. This makes LES immune to the spoofing techniques (i.e. latex fingers or gummy prints) that cause optical or silicon sensors to grant false acceptances, threatening security.
Usable, Reliable, Durable
A number of technology and design features contribute to the LES’s high usability rate (industry average high of 98%) among user populations. The large, curved sensor face of the fingerprint scanner provides a larger template for image generation, reducing distortion that results from flat optical and silicon sensors. Templates are captured at 620 dpi which, when combined with our image processing algorithms, provide highly usable images where other sensors fail with dry, faint and contaminated fingerprints.
Generating an image from a faint electric current, the LES fingerprint scanner is not easily confused by oils or foreign matter (i.e. dust, sweat) on fingers. This leaves the sensor surface essentially maintenance-free. Further, the LES fingerprint scanner has been mechanically tested and guaranteed to 1 million touches with no visible degradation in image quality.
